Non- permanent flame retardants
The flame retardant deposits on the fiber. RUDOLF can offer a suitable product for all fiber types. The products of this range are not resistant to soaking or washing, but some are resistant to dry cleaning.
RUCO®-FLAM NAF
For cellulosic fibers, furnishing article blends with WO as well as pure WO; for cellulose or jute, registered under the site supervision No. P-12-003246-PR02-ift
- only little influence on handle
- not resistant to washing
- limited resistance to dry cleaning
- passes fire shaft test
RUCO®-FLAM NCE
For cellulosic material or its blends with synthetic fibers as well as PES or PA; for cellulose or jute, registered under the site supervision No. P-13-001324-PR02-ift
- very good flame retardant properties
- does not affect handle
RUCO®-FLAM NMP
Universally applicable flame-retardant for textiles, preferably made from cellulosic fibres, WO, PES, polyacrylonitrile, polypropylene as well as blends from natural and synthetic fibres
- highly flame-retardant
- no impairment of fibre strength
- complies with the current requirements of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, product class I-IV
RUCO®-FLAM NPK
For cellulosic fibres or WO, alone or in blends if cellulosic or WO portion is predominant
- compatible with certain N-methylol compounds (crosslinking agents) and hydrophobic softeners
- not resistant to washing
- not resistant to dry cleaning
RUCO®-FLAM NSC
For cellulosic fibres or jute, registered under the site supervision No. P-12-003248-PR02-ift
- slightly full, soft handle
- changes of shade not to be expected
- does not tend to blooming
- not resistant to washing
- limited resistance to dry cleaning
RUCO®-FLAM NUV
For textiles, preferably of PES or PA as well as cellulosic materials or their blends with synthetic fibers
- does not affect handle
- effects are resistant to dry cleaning in water-free systems
- not resistant to washing
Semi- permanent flame retardants
Due to the low solubility of the components applied, the products are resistant to soaking. This is mainly required by the furniture industry and carried out according to the so-called soaking test BS 5651. The specimen is placed for 30 min in a 40°C-warm water bath, without any mechanical stress, however.
RUCO®-FLAM SCO
Soak-resistant flame retardant, preferably for cellulose or its blends with synthetic fibres according to BS 5852
- high drying temperatures up to 170 °C possible
- dry handle without impairing the soft handle
- does not tend to blooming on the fabric
Permanent flame retardants
With cellulosic fibers, the flame retardant forms a chemical bond with the fibers’ reactive groups, which is a complicated process and described in detail in a separate Rudolf-Info (see RI 23/13). The PES and PA fibers are thermally opened after the application of the flame retardant so that it can deposit. This is the so-called thermosol process. The flame-retardant effects obtained are highly wash-resistant on cellulosic, PES and PA fibers.
RUCO®-FLAM PCE
Durable flame-retardant finish of textiles made of cellulose, preferably for workwear, children’s pyjamas, home textiles and military purposes
- resistant to washing at the boil and dry cleaning
- the finish does not affect the wear properties
- complies with the current requirements of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, product class I-IV
RUCO®-FLAM PSY-E
Permanent flame-retardant finish of decorative articles or upholstery fabric made of PES or PES/PA, confers a soft handle
- no hardening of the handle
- pigment-free
- resistant to mild washing and dry cleaning
